K-Pop Star Song Ga-in Embraces Dance Challenge with New Single 'Love's Mambo'
On October 22, Song Ga-in shared a dance practice video for her new single 'Love's Mambo' on her official social media channels. This comes after her impressive cover of Jennie's 'SOLO' at her fan meeting, 'Forever - The Rising'.
On the first day of practice, Song Ga-in expressed her concerns, saying, “I’m worried if I can do well, but I’ll give it a try.” Despite struggling with the choreography initially, she maintained her professional demeanor, smiling and focusing as the music played. After completing the first day, she shared, “It feels like a dream. I was worried about performing a full choreography for the first time, but I’m proud to have accomplished it.”
By the second day, Song Ga-in showcased her improved confidence and fluidity, earning praise from her dance instructors. Encouraged by their feedback, she humbly remarked, “It feels like a miracle that I can do this,” to which the dance captain responded, “It’s not a miracle; you’re just bringing out what was already inside you.”
On the third day, Song Ga-in flawlessly executed complex choreography, even performing without her instructors. She reflected, “I was stiff like a wooden doll on the first day, but I’ve improved a lot.” She promised an exciting performance, asking for support and anticipation for her new stage.
'Love's Mambo' is a trot song featuring mambo rhythm's distinctive drums, lively brass lines, and witty synthesizer sounds. The song is particularly noteworthy as it was written and composed by legendary trot singer and hitmaker Seol Woon-do, who gifted it to Song Ga-in.
Earlier this year, Song Ga-in made history with her fourth studio album 'Gain; Moon', becoming the first female trot singer to surpass 20,000 copies in first-week sales, with all tracks charting.
