K-Pop Star G-Dragon and Former YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun-suk Under Investigation for Copyright Infringement
The police have launched a forced investigation into K-pop star G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong) and former YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun-suk over allegations of copyright infringement.

According to multiple media outlets on the 13th, the Seoul Mapo Police Station recently conducted a search and seizure at the YG Entertainment office located in Mapo-gu, Seoul. The search was based on a complaint filed by composer A in November last year. Additionally, a search was conducted at the Korea Music Copyright Association in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. The police have already questioned some of the individuals involved and are continuing their investigation after completing the search.

Composer A claims that YG Entertainment illegally reproduced and distributed an album containing a song he composed. The complaint reportedly includes not only G-Dragon and former CEO Yang but also Yang's younger brother, YG Entertainment CEO Yang Min-suk, and Choi, the CEO of YG Plus, a subsidiary.

A police official stated, "The search and seizure have been completed, and the investigation is ongoing." The police plan to clarify the facts based on the collected evidence and testimonies from those involved.

The case has moved to the forced investigation stage approximately nine months after the complaint was filed, and the decision on whether to prosecute will depend on the investigation's outcome.
