BigHit Music Unveils New Boy Group 'CORTIS' with a Unique Introduction

BigHit Music has officially revealed the name of their new boy group.

On the 7th, at midnight, BigHit Music launched the official social media channels for their new boy group and announced the team name as CORTIS. The name CORTIS is derived from the phrase 'COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,' taking six letters irregularly to form the name. It signifies 'thinking freely beyond the standards and rules set by the world.' The five members, Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, and Gunho, are set to present creative works with different thoughts and new perspectives, just like their group name suggests.

CORTIS also introduced their team name in a unique way. At midnight on the 7th, they first revealed the group name through a 'logo sound' video uploaded on the global short-form video platform TikTok. This short-form video was personally created by Martin using the music composition program he actually uses. The screen displays the team name while a mysterious sound plays, as if opening a door to an unknown world. As a 'young creator crew' that co-creates music, choreography, and videos, they made their first introduction with content they created themselves.

The video released alongside the 'logo sound' also marked the first appearance of the members. In the video, CORTIS members are seen enjoying their work, capturing each other in a space filled with various sound equipment and keyboards. This video captures the real atmosphere of their workspace, offering a glimpse into the authentic CORTIS. Additionally, they promote their team’s social media channels against the backdrop of their self-decorated workspace, showcasing a completely new and original sense of style.

Meanwhile, CORTIS is set to officially debut on August 18th.
