IVE's An Yujin Shines in 'GOLDEN' Cover Amidst Post-Production Controversy
Recently, IVE's official YouTube channel uploaded a video titled 'GOLDEN Covered by IVE ANYUJIN'. In the video, An Yujin showcases her unique, clear vocals, delivering 'GOLDEN' in her own style.
The cover video quickly climbed to the top of YouTube's trending videos, amassing 2.85 million views in just four days. Despite the song's challenging high notes, An Yujin maintained a steady performance, earning recognition for both her skill and charm.
Most fans praised her, saying, "She sings really well," and "Listening to 'GOLDEN' reminded me of IVE's 'I AM', and it's amazing that Yujin covered it." Others noted her dedication to fans, even amidst her busy schedule in Japan and the US. However, some netizens questioned the authenticity of the video, suggesting, "I want to hear an unedited live version," and "It feels heavily edited," with some even speculating about lip-syncing.
Some argue that post-production is a standard process in the K-pop industry and is often used in live broadcasts, emphasizing that it doesn't imply a lack of vocal ability.
An Yujin has long been recognized as a 'vocally talented idol'. She debuted after being selected by national producers on 'Produce 101' and was known as a 'hexagonal idol' during her time with IZ*ONE, excelling in dance, visuals, and vocals. Producer Ryan Jhun, who worked with her, also praised her vocal potential.
Since re-debuting with IVE, she has taken on high-note parts within the team, proving her live performance skills.
