K-pop band QWER has expressed their ambition to create a new genre called 'Q-Pop' as they make their comeback.

On November 9th, QWER held a media showcase at Yes24 Wonder Rock Hall in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their third mini-album, 'I'm on Your Side, Even if the World is Disharmonious.'

Magenta explained, "Like the album title, we wanted to convey the message 'I'm on your side' to those who believe in their dreams in a seemingly disharmonious world. It perfectly encapsulates the essence of this album."

Chodan added, "The title of this album completes a message we've been crafting since our debut. It's something we've wanted to share with everyone. Internally, we refer to it as 'NanNeOnBul.'"

Magenta also shared that all members participated in composing and writing lyrics for the album, stating, "We started studying songwriting earlier this year. It was meaningful to work together and capture each member's unique charm."

Hina revealed, "I struggled with how to convey emotions effectively in lyrics. My sisters advised me to write as if I were penning a letter, which made the process smoother."

Hina also mentioned, "Despite our busy schedules, we worked on the album at our dorm. Many great ideas came during everyday moments, like when we were eating together." Siyun added, "The band focused a lot on the music itself, which helped us grow."

Magenta humorously noted, "We practiced so much for this comeback that my thumbprints wore off, making fingerprint recognition impossible. When I mentioned it to Kim Gyeran, he said, 'It's the same for athletes; they don't have fingerprints either,' which made me laugh and feel proud."

When asked about their goals for the album, Magenta expressed, "Beyond chart performance, we want to deliver great performances to many people. However, we do hope to reach number one on all music charts." She added, "We hope our songs become a staple in many playlists, becoming a 'must-listen.'"

Finally, when asked what label they aspire to, Hina replied, "We want to become a genre of our own, Q-Pop. We aim to release songs that are instantly recognizable as ours." Magenta added with a smile, "We hope to earn the nickname 'Trustworthy QWER' until people say, 'Is it a QWER song? Then I must listen.'"

The third mini-album, 'I'm on Your Side, Even if the World is Disharmonious,' captures QWER's bright and hopeful growth narrative, overcoming disharmony together. It includes six tracks, with the title track 'Holding Back Tears,' which is about taking a step forward towards a hopeful tomorrow despite overwhelming sadness.

QWER's third mini-album, 'I'm on Your Side, Even if the World is Disharmonious,' will be released on various music platforms at 6 PM on November 9th.
