SEVENTEEN Sets New K-Pop Record with Fifth Studio Album 'HAPPY BURSTDAY'
SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) has set a new record for the highest first-week sales of a K-pop album this year with their fifth studio album.

According to Hanteo Chart, SEVENTEEN's 'HAPPY BURSTDAY' sold a total of 2,521,208 copies in its first week (from May 26 to June 1), topping the weekly album chart. This marks the highest first-week sales for any K-pop album released this year.

Their agency stated, "On the day of their comeback, SEVENTEEN became the first K-pop act this year to achieve double million-seller status. They have added another significant record with their first-week sales, showcasing their status as a 'top K-pop group.' SEVENTEEN is known for continuing to increase album sales even after the initial sales period, raising expectations for their future achievements."

'HAPPY BURSTDAY' immediately topped Hanteo's daily album chart and the 'Worldwide iTunes Album' chart upon release. It also maintained the top spot on Japan's Oricon 'Daily Album Ranking' for five consecutive days (May 27-31). In China, it reached number one on QQ Music's daily and weekly 'Digital Best-Seller Album' charts and received the 'Diamond Album Certification' for surpassing 5 million yuan in sales.

The title track 'THUNDER' is also making waves. It topped the Bugs daily chart for two consecutive days (May 30-31) and reached the top of Melon's 'Top 100,' known as the 'concrete chart' due to its stable rankings. The performance of 'THUNDER' on music shows has been well-received online, suggesting further growth in its chart performance.

SEVENTEEN's influence extends beyond album sales to the global concert market. According to Billboard's semi-annual report, they achieved approximately $120.9 million in ticket sales from October 1 last year to March 31 this year. This ranks them third worldwide in ticket sales and marks the highest for a K-pop artist.

SEVENTEEN continues to engage actively in music shows and variety content. Their third collaboration with producer Na Young-seok, 'Nana Minbak with SEVENTEEN,' premiered on the 2nd. Joshua will appear on the web variety show 'Narae-sik' on the 4th, while Seungkwan and Vernon will join 'Halmyungsoo,' and Mingyu will appear on 'Hyel's Club' on the 6th.
