NewJeans Members Announce Termination of Contract with ADOR, Citing Breach of Obligations
Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein have officially announced their decision to terminate their exclusive contract with ADOR.

On the 29th, the five members released a statement saying, "We, the five members, are notifying ADOR of the termination due to their breach of contractual obligations, which they failed to rectify within the stipulated period. This termination notice is in accordance with our exclusive contract, and all five of us have signed the termination document. The notice will take effect immediately upon its delivery to ADOR on November 29, 2024."

They further stated, "From that point, the exclusive contract will be null and void. Therefore, there is no need to file for an injunction to terminate the contract, and we will be free to pursue our activities from November 29, 2024."

Regarding penalties, the members maintained their stance from the previous day's press conference. They asserted, "We have diligently fulfilled our contractual obligations as artists under ADOR. The termination is solely due to ADOR's breach of obligations, and thus, we are not liable for any penalties."

Official Statement from NewJeans

Hello, this is Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.

As of November 29, 2024, we have decided to terminate our exclusive contract with ADOR and will continue our activities independently from HYBE and ADOR.

ADOR, as our agency, has the duty to manage us faithfully for our benefit. On November 13, 2024, we made a final request for ADOR to rectify their breaches. Despite the 14-day rectification period, ADOR refused to comply, and none of the issues were resolved.

Over the past few months, we have repeatedly requested ADOR to address these issues. However, ADOR consistently responded with evasions and excuses. We want to clarify that genuine communication, based on mutual respect, was not achieved due to ADOR's actions.

We specified the actions required from ADOR in our requests. Yet, ADOR failed to take any corrective measures within business hours, making it physically impossible to rectify the issues within the remaining period. Therefore, our urgent press conference was necessary, and ADOR's claim that we did not wait for their response is merely wordplay.

We are notifying ADOR of the termination due to their breach of contractual obligations, which they failed to rectify within the stipulated period. This termination notice is in accordance with our exclusive contract, and all five of us have signed the termination document. The notice will take effect immediately upon its delivery to ADOR on November 29, 2024. From that point, the exclusive contract will be null and void. Therefore, there is no need to file for an injunction to terminate the contract, and we will be free to pursue our activities from November 29, 2024.

We have diligently fulfilled our contractual obligations as artists under ADOR. The termination is solely due to ADOR's breach of obligations, and thus, we are not liable for any penalties.

We do not wish for our contract termination to negatively impact others. We will faithfully fulfill all obligations under contracts made with ADOR and others before the termination date.

Our decision was made after long deliberation. We can no longer remain with ADOR, which fails to fulfill its basic duty of protecting its artists, as maintaining the contract would cause us severe mental distress. We have concluded that we must leave ADOR. Additionally, we have been hurt and shocked by numerous media plays based on false information. We hope such situations will not occur after the contract termination.

We will continue to strive to deliver great music. We appreciate your support and encouragement for our future endeavors.
