Aespa Dominates 2024 MAMA Awards with Six Wins, Including 'Song of the Year'
Aespa, under SM Entertainment, achieved a remarkable feat by winning a total of six awards, including the grand prize, at the '2024 MAMA AWARDS'.
Held over two days, November 22-23, at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, the '2024 MAMA AWARDS' saw Aespa take home the prestigious 'Song of the Year' award. In addition, they won 'Best Female Group', 'Best Girl Group Performance', 'Best Choreography', 'Best Music Video', and 'Fan's Choice', making them the biggest winners of the night and showcasing their prowess as 'global hitmakers'.
On receiving the awards, Aespa expressed their gratitude, saying, “We will continue to work hard to produce good music. Our goal this year was to win a grand prize, and we are so happy to achieve it and share this joy with our fans. Our debut anniversary was on the 17th, and we wanted to gift this award to our MYs.”
Their first full-length album's title track 'Supernova' dominated the Melon weekly chart for 15 consecutive weeks, setting a new record for the longest time at number one in 20 years. Aespa continues to hold top positions on the charts with their other title track 'Armageddon' and their recently released fifth mini-album 'Whiplash'. They have achieved consecutive career highs by winning grand prizes at various music award ceremonies, including the '2024 K-World Dream Awards', '2024 The Fact Music Awards', and '2024 Korea Grand Music Awards', culminating in their success at the '2024 MAMA AWARDS'.
Meanwhile, Aespa is set to attend the 'Melon Music Awards 2024' on November 30 at the Incheon Inspire Arena.
