Boy Next Door releases first fan song ‘400 Years’

BOYNEXTDOOR surprisingly released its first fan song.

Boy Next Door (Seongho, Liu, Myung Jaehyeon, Taesan, Lee Han, Unhak) posted a special video for '400 Years' on the team's official YouTube channel at 6pm on the 16th. The song inserted in this video is their first fan song, with Myeong Jae-hyun, Taesan, and Unhak participating in the composition and all Boy Next Door members writing the lyrics.

After the song was released, the members wrote in the comment section of the video, “400 years mean so much to us, so we won’t let that time just pass by. I'm happy to be a part of One Door's every moment. Instead of saying 'eternity', which seems far away, I say let's just be together for 400 years. He wrote, “I love you,” and directly conveyed the reason why he wrote the song.

'400 Years' is a song that BoyNextdoor sings about the gratitude and love they felt after meeting a being called ONEDOOR (fandom name). The title comes from the expression, “Let’s only be together for 400 years,” which the members use figuratively to encourage fans to stay together for a long time. Not only the title but also the lyrics contain code-like words shared with fans.

The '400 Years' special video captures BoyNextdoor freely roaming the streets of London, England, with an analog feel. In the video, the members spend their everyday time at flower shops, cafes, bookstores, etc. with simple faces and no makeup. Additionally, they completed the video as a gift for fans by including a handwritten letter to One Door at the end of the video.

Boy Next Door debuted in May of last year and achieved a total of 717,927 album sales last year alone in Circle Chart's recently announced 2023 Annual Album Chart.
