Singer and actor Cha Eun-woo was recognized as a ‘global icon.’

Cha Eun-woo attended the music awards ceremony 'MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2023' (hereinafter 'MTV VMAJ 2023') held at K-Arena Yokohama, Japan on the 22nd and won the 'Global Icon Award' category.

Cha Eun-woo, who became the first Asian artist to receive the 'Global Icon Award' on this day, said, "I think I was able to receive this valuable award thanks to Aroha, who gave me so much support and love. “I will show you a great side to repay your support,” he said.

Following the award, Cha Eun-woo made the awards ceremony even brighter with a special performance. Cha Eun-woo newly arranged the Japanese song 'Let's say goodbye to the person you like the most' (1番好きな人にサヨナラを言おう), a Japanese song released in 2021, doubling Cha Eun-woo's sweet tone and warm emotions to fans who visited the concert hall. It left a deep impression.

Cha Eun-woo, who is active both at home and abroad, held a solo fan meeting tour '2022 Just One 10 Minute Starry Caravan' in five Asian countries, including Korea and Japan, last year, attracting approximately 50,000 people. It mobilized a global audience.

MBC's Wednesday drama 'Lovely Dog Again', in which Cha Eun-woo plays the main character Jin Seo-won, ranked first in 93 countries, including the U.S. and Europe, in its first week of release on the global OTT platform Rakuten Viki, followed by OTT charts in 16 countries in Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa. It ranked first and is receiving favorable reviews from domestic and overseas viewers.

On December 28, Cha Eun-woo will release a photo book titled 'Cha Eun-woo (ASTRO) 2023 OFFICIAL PHOTO BOOK' taken in LA, USA.
