NewJeans' 'Cool With You' surpasses 100 million streams on Spotify

According to Spotify, the world's largest streaming platform, on the 22nd, 'Cool With You', one of the triple title songs of NewJeans (Minzy, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, Hyein)'s 2nd mini album 'Get Up', sold 100 million won as of the 20th. It was played 156,500 times, becoming the 10th song in New Genes' history to join the ranks of streaming songs worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
'Cool With You' is an impressive song with a sophisticated beat of UK garage rhythm and NewJeans' attractive yet restrained vocals. As soon as it was released, it charted on the US Billboard main song chart 'Hot 100' (as of August 5). ) received great love. In addition, the music video for this song attracted attention by featuring global stars Tony Leung and Ho-yeon Jeong, and the movie-like visuals and contemporary genre performances added to the fun of watching.
Four of the six songs included in 'Get Up' have already reached hundreds of millions of streams on Spotify. Previously, the combined cumulative number of views on Spotify for the songs in 'Get Up' exceeded 850 million, with 'Super Shy' exceeding 300 million plays, 'New Jeans' and 'ETA' each exceeding 100 million. The total number of streams for the songs released so far by NewJeans is more than 3 billion.
'Get Up' is showing off its undiminished popularity on the US Billboard charts. According to the latest US Billboard chart (as of November 25) released on the 21st (local time), 'Get Up' ranked 152nd on the main album chart 'Billboard 200'. As a result, 'Get Up' entered this chart at number 1 (as of August 5th) and stayed on the chart for 17 consecutive weeks, setting a new record for being the longest charting period for a 4th generation K-pop girl group. 'Get Up''s other title song, 'Super Shy', ranked 59th in 'Global (excluding the US)' and 89th in 'Global 200' this week, maintaining its ranking on both charts for 19 consecutive weeks.
Based on these global achievements, NewJeans won the 'Top Global K-pop Artist' category at the '2023 Billboard Music Awards (2023 BBMAs)' held on the 20th (Korean time). NewJeans, who won an award at the 'BBMAs' for the first time since their debut, was recorded as the group among K-pop artists to win the award in the shortest period of time (1 year and 4 months) since their debut.
