SEVENTEEN's 'DREAM' obtains Japanese Gold Disc 'Million' certification
Group Seventeen (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) has once again proven its unrivaled popularity in Japan.
According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan on the 10th, Seventeen's first Japanese EP 'DREAM', released on November 9 last year, achieved 'Million' certification with cumulative shipments exceeding 1 million copies as of January 2023. This is the first time that Seventeen has received the ‘Million’ album certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
In addition, SEVENTEEN's 9th mini album 'Attacca', released in October 2021, received 'Double Platinum' certification, which is given to works with cumulative shipments of more than 500,000 copies.
Seventeen said, “It was all thanks to Carat (fandom name) that we received the first ‘Million’ certification. Really thankful. “I will do my best to deliver good music and performances to many people this year,” he said.
Seventeen received a lot of love with the recently released collaboration song 'BETTING' with Shingo Katori. This song attracted so much attention that it ranked first on 10 major music charts in Japan, including Oricon, Billboard Japan, Amazon Music, and Reco Chalk.
Meanwhile, Seventeen's special unit Bu Seok-soon's first single album 'SECOND WIND' also ranked first in the Oricon Daily Single Ranking (as of February 6), and was ranked first on major Japanese music sites Line Music, AWA, mora, etc. The title song 'We Must Fight (Feat. Lee Young-ji)' and the b-side songs 'LUNCH' and 'Listen at 7 (Feat. Peder Elias)' are receiving a warm response, ranking at the top of the real-time charts.
