YG's rookie baby monster, fantastic teamwork
YG Entertainment posted BABYMONSTER - 'Last Evaluation' EP.7 on its official blog on the 21st. This video contains the passion and results of the seven prospective members going through the group vocal mission, including the performance of Ahyeon, the last runner of the solo vocal mission.
Ahyeon, who had difficulty selecting a song in the last episode, surprised senior artists with a highly complete performance of 'Dangerously' even during a short practice period. The ability to freely switch between true voice and falsetto, as well as the explosiveness of voice, were skills that could not be believed even from a trainee.
Kang Seung-yoon applauded, saying, “I think I saw a power show with the voice,” and YGX’s dance trainer also praised the character, saying, “It’s the character that best suits the team name.” In particular, general producer Yang Hyun-seok praised the member, saying, "He is the member with the highest vocal range among the seven members. I felt that he was doing his best without any hesitation."
The mission that followed was a group vocal mission. Because teamwork is a very important element that the best team must have. Baby Monster was momentarily embarrassed as they had no experience working together with one voice, but they soon put their heads together and quickly proceeded with song selection and distribution of parts.
Even though it was their first time matching chords, Baby Monster created beautiful harmony under Ahyun's detailed teaching and Haram's active vocal lead. The youngest, Chiquita, who had difficulty singing as a group due to her shortest training period, did her best until the end and smiled happily thanks to Ahyeon's solid advice and affectionate encouragement.
Baby Monster's endless efforts really paid off on the day of the contest. The seven members who chose 'Scars To Your Beautiful' demonstrated amazing synergy by fully utilizing each individual's strengths and harmonizing perfectly. Lee Chan-hyuk couldn't help but be impressed by the fantastic chemistry that was unusual for a rookie, saying, "It was like watching the ending stage of a music broadcast."
And finally, the final gateway to debut was opened. At the end of the video, a group dance stage, which is Baby Monster's final mission, is announced, and as general producer Yang Hyun-seok previously said, "All seven members cannot debut together," global fans are focusing their attention on the final debut group.
Meanwhile, Baby Monster is a new girl group released by YG about 7 years after Blackpink. The prospective members are mostly teenagers: 3 from Korea (Ahyeon, Haram, and Laura), 2 from Thailand (Parita and Chiquita), and 2 from Japan (Luca and Asa). The debut reality show 'Last Evaluation' for final member selection is released every Friday at 00:00.
