Baby Monster surpasses 2 million YouTube subscribers ‘before official debut’
YG's new girl group BABYMONSTER has broken a new K-pop record despite being a trainee who has not yet debuted, heralding the birth of a 'monster rookie' with both talent and topicality, drawing much attention.

According to YG Entertainment on the 7th, the number of subscribers to Baby Monster's official YouTube channel exceeded 2 million at 3:12 pm the previous day. It has only been 129 days since the channel was opened on December 28 last year, the shortest period of time for a K-pop girl group in history.

On YouTube, which is leading the global music market, the number of subscribers is considered an indicator of the formation of a loyal fandom. This is a glimpse into the extraordinary expectations of global music fans towards the new baby monster, which YG has been preparing with great care for a long time.

It has a special meaning, especially since they are trainees who have not yet officially debuted. This is not an album promotion, but a result achieved only with preliminary content such as personal introductions of the seven prospective members, performance videos, live covers, and debut reality. Thanks to the strong interest, the cumulative number of content views on Baby Monster and YG's official YouTube channels is already approaching 400 million views.

Not only global fans but also influential foreign media outlets are focusing on Baby Monster. Billboard, an American music media outlet, selected them as 'K-pop artists to watch' and predicted good performance, saying, "They will create a new wave in the K-pop genre." In addition, world-famous pop star Charlie Puth left a favorable review on Ahyun's cover of 'Dangerously', saying, "I loved it."

Meanwhile, Baby Monster is a new girl group released by YG about 7 years after Blackpink. Three Korean members (Ahyeon, Haram, and Laura), two Thai members (Parita and Chiquita), and two Japanese members (Luca and Asa) are expected to enter the global music market as 'all-rounders' with vocals, dance, rap, and visual skills. We are living up to our expectations. The final debut member will be announced at midnight on the 12th.
