Cho Yong-pil, 8th solo concert at Jamsil Main Stadium
'King of Singer' Cho Yong-pil, who is celebrating his 55th debut anniversary, will hold a solo performance '2023 Cho Yong-pil & The Great Birth Concert' this afternoon (13th) at the Olympic Main Stadium, Jamsil Sports Complex, Seoul, known as the 'Holy Land of Korean Popular Music'.

This is the eighth time Cho Yong-pil has held a solo concert here since his 35th anniversary performance in 2003. Cho Yong-pil set an unprecedented record by selling out the past seven performances.

At this concert, Cho Yong-pil celebrates his 55th debut anniversary and performs his new songs 'Feeling Of You' and 'La' for the first time.

Jamsil Olympic Stadium, which opened in 1984, is a symbolic venue where the 1986 Seoul Asian Games and the 1988 Seoul Olympics were held. It is one of the largest performance halls in Korea and is known as the ‘dream stage’ for Korean singers, capable of accommodating over 50,000 audiences. Here, solo concerts were allowed only to a small number of the best singers of the time, including the group BTS, Lee Moon-se, IU, HOT, NCT 127, and NCT Dream. Cho Yong-pil was the first solo singer to hold a solo concert at the main stadium. Cho Yong-pil has been a legend in the popular music world for over half a century and has been associated with this stage for 20 years. This performance is expected to be the last concert at the existing Olympic Main Stadium, which will begin remodeling in June.

Cho Yong-pil, who debuted in the rock group Atkins in 1968, played in bands such as Kim Trio and Cho Yong-pil and Shadow before embarking on a solo career.

In 1976, he made a hit with 'Please Come Back to Busan Port', and in 1980, he rose to stardom by recording the first million-seller in the history of the Korean music industry with his first album, which included songs such as 'The Woman Outside the Window' and 'Short Hair'.

Since then, he has set countless records, including the first single album in Korea to sell more than 1 million copies, the first cumulative album to sell more than 10 million copies, the first Korean singer to sell more than 1 million single albums in Japan, and the first Korean singer to perform at Radio City in New York, USA.

YPC, the agency, and Insight Entertainment, the entertainment company, plan to distribute light sticks, MDs (goods items) that are sold for tens of thousands of won each at other concerts, free of charge to all visitors.
