Signed MOU with Supertone and Livetone for 'sound technology development and mutual cooperation'
On the 12th, Supertone and Livetone signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for sound technology development and mutual cooperation at Livetone Sangam-dong headquarters.
The two companies decided to seek mutual growth in technology and business through active exchanges. In particular, with the signing of this MOU, they plan to jointly develop solutions for the development of video and sound, which are drawing attention along with the global popularity of K-content. It was also decided to seek ways to maximize the quality of sound in video quickly and efficiently through advanced AI technology from various angles.
Lee Kyo-gu, CEO of Supertone, said, "We expect that this MOU will lead to a quantum jump in sound technology within K-content, and through this, we expect to be able to produce innovative and more creative K-content." Supertone is a subsidiary of entertainment company Hive. It is also in charge of a major business axis that realizes the convergence of music and technology, which is Hive's mid- to long-term growth strategy. With the signing of the MOU between Supertone and Livetone, Hive has been able to strengthen its technical capabilities to provide improved sound in a wider range of K-content.
Supertone provides AI audio technology in various media fields. The Midnatt project, which was carried out with Hive IM in May, introduced the world's first six language sound sources through multilingual conversion technology, and at the performance site, artists performed real-time singing with other people's voices. In 'Casino', which was a box office hit on Disney+, AI voice de-aging was done for Choi Min-sik's flashback scenes in his youth, and Choi Min-sik's voice in his 60s was converted into that of a 30-year-old. To the public, 'The Battle of the Century! He also gained fame by showing off his voice technology in 'AI vs Human – Kim Kwang-seok', 'AI Music Project, Once Again - Kim Hyun-shik, Turtle', and 'New Technology Music Content, Alive - Yoo Jae-ha, Lim Yoon-taek'.
Starting with <Beat>, which was founded in 1997, Live Tone has made technological progress such as Korea's first Dolby Digital 5.1 Channel Mixing and world's first 14.2 Channel D-Cinema 3D Sound production. In charge of sound design and mixing for 12 films with 10 million viewers, including <Train to Busan>, <Taxi Driver>, <Along with the Gods: Crime and Punishment>, <Along with the Gods: Cause and Effect>, and <Parasite>, as well as over 250 movies and dramas. It is the best film sound studio in Korea.
