Director Jang Dong-yoon's Dual Role: Behind the Scenes of 'Nuruk'
The cast of the film 'Nuruk' candidly shared their experiences working with director Jang Dong-yoon.

On the 4th, a press screening for the movie 'Nuruk' was held at Megabox COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. Director Jang Dong-yoon and actors Kim Seung-yoon and Song Ji-hyuk were in attendance.

'Nuruk' tells the story of Dasul, the daughter of a brewery owner, who notices a change in the taste of makgeolli and embarks on a journey to find the missing nuruk, the main ingredient. This film marks Jang Dong-yoon's debut as a feature-length director.

Kim Seung-yoon plays Dasul, an eighteen-year-old girl who loves makgeolli. Song Ji-hyuk portrays Dahyun, her seemingly aloof but caring older brother.

The actors shared behind-the-scenes stories about working with Jang Dong-yoon, who is both a director and an actor. Song Ji-hyuk remarked, "The director reminded me of 'Jekyll and Hyde' during filming. His demeanor changed significantly from the start to the end of filming," but added, "His charisma and cool judgment were key to the film's success."

Kim Seung-yoon praised Jang as "the epitome of a gentle yet strong leader." She admitted, "The set was challenging and tense. There were more misunderstandings than expected." She humorously recounted, "When the director gave cues, I couldn't always follow. I asked, 'Director, how should I do it? You're an actor, show me,' and he really did." On the positive side, she noted, "The director's acting background made his directing more detailed and intuitive. He would say things like 'breathe more' or 'relax,' like a mentor. There was no confusion."

'Nuruk' is set to release on the 15th.
