'The King and the Clown' Surpasses 11.7 Million Viewers, Tops Box Office
According to the Integrated Computer Network for Movie Tickets, 'The King and the Clown' maintained its position at the top of the box office on the 9th. It recorded a daily audience of 203,131 and a cumulative audience of 11,706,850.
On the 6th, 'The King and the Clown' became the 34th film in history to reach 10 million viewers. The film is set in 1457 Cheongnyeongpo and tells the story of a village chief who voluntarily exiles himself for the village's prosperity and a young dethroned king in exile. The main cast includes Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, and Jeon Mi-do.
In second place at the box office is the animation 'Hoppers' directed by Daniel Chong. 'Hoppers' attracted a daily audience of 11,332 and a cumulative audience of 326,515.
'Hoppers' is a Pixar animal adventure where a girl named Mabel, transformed into a robot beaver through the 'Hopping' technology that transfers human consciousness into animal robots, embarks on an unexpected adventure in the animal world.
Ranked third is 'Humint' directed by Ryu Seung-wan, with a daily audience of 5,633 and a cumulative audience of 1,937,842, steadily attracting viewers.
'Humint' is set in Vladivostok, where secrets and truths are submerged in the icy sea, and features a clash of individuals with different motives. The film combines intense action with profound emotions and has received positive reviews. The cast includes Jo In-sung, Park Jung-min, Park Hae-joon, and Shin Se-kyung.
Other films in the top five include 'Mad Dance Office' directed by Jo Hyun-jin in fourth place, and '5 Centimeters per Second' directed by Okuyama Yoshiyuki in fifth place.
