Go Ah-sung Reflects on Her On-Screen Chemistry with Moon Sang-min in Netflix's 'Pavane'
In a recent interview at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, Go Ah-sung discussed her role in the Netflix film 'Pavane,' directed by Lee Jong-pil.
'Pavane' is a film about three individuals who, while living with closed hearts, become a source of light for each other, confronting life and love. Go Ah-sung plays the role of 'Mi-jung,' a woman who hides from the uncomfortable gazes of others.
During the interview, Go Ah-sung recalled her first meeting with Moon Sang-min, who plays her on-screen partner. She said, "I was practicing Mi-jung's lines alone when I heard that Moon Sang-min was cast as Kyung-rok. When we practiced together, he truly embodied 'Kyung-rok,'" she laughed. "I was so moved. I felt like I had been waiting for him, like 'Finally, Kyung-rok has appeared.'"
She also candidly shared her first impression of Moon Sang-min. "When I first saw him, his height was striking, creating a visual imbalance that added to the chemistry," she laughed. "As we talked, I realized he had a lonely yet passionate side. He seemed like an actor ready to express that energy."
Go Ah-sung also revealed that the casting process for Kyung-rok wasn't entirely smooth. "I left the casting to the director. When I heard it was finalized, I was surprised, thinking, 'Kyung-rok?'" she said. "I never imagined Kyung-rok would come with such a lonely vibe. But he felt like a prepared actor, which made me even more excited."
