Shin Se-kyung Discusses On-Screen Romance with Park Jung-min in 'Human Intelligence'
On the 4th, a press conference for the film 'Human Intelligence' was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Ryoo Seung-wan and actors Jo In-sung, Park Jung-min, Park Hae-joon, and Shin Se-kyung.
'Human Intelligence' is a story set in Vladivostok, where individuals with different agendas clash in a world where secrets and truths are submerged in the icy sea. The title 'Human Intelligence' refers to intelligence activities conducted through human interactions.
Jo In-sung plays the role of Cho, an agent of the National Intelligence Service of South Korea. Park Jung-min portrays Park Geon, a captain in North Korea's Ministry of State Security. Park Hae-joon takes on the role of Hwang Chi-sung, the North Korean Consul General in Vladivostok. Shin Se-kyung stars as Chae Sun-hwa, a waitress at a North Korean restaurant in Vladivostok.
Shin Se-kyung shared her experience, saying, "Filming abroad for an extended period was intense yet beautiful, creating many cherished memories. I'm excited but also quite nervous."
Regarding her romantic scenes with Park Jung-min, Shin expressed, "This was a different kind of romance from what I've done before, which made it exciting. Knowing I would be acting alongside Park Jung-min added to the thrill and enjoyment." She added, "While the emotional connection between my character and Park Geon's is important, I believe the overall harmony and chemistry of the film are crucial. I'm grateful if it was well-received."
Jo In-sung, who observed their romantic scenes, commented, "The director paid a lot of attention, and he encouraged us to watch the scenes unfold. I supported their romance both on and off the screen. Both actors are veterans, and their interpretations brought out a poignant performance."
Director Ryoo Seung-wan remarked on Shin Se-kyung's captivating presence on screen, saying, "We didn't specifically aim to make her look beautiful, nor did she try to appear that way. Her dedication to the role of Chae Sun-hwa was captured by the camera." He humorously added, "The cinematographers did the filming, not me, but she looks beautiful no matter how she's shot."
'Human Intelligence' is set to be released on the 11th.
