Arden Cho Clarifies Support for Cha Eun-woo Amid Tax Evasion Controversy

Actress Arden Cho has addressed her support for Cha Eun-woo, who is facing allegations of tax evasion amounting to 20 billion KRW (approximately $17 million USD).

On September 30, Arden Cho held an interview in Gangnam, Seoul.

Before the interview began, Cho's team clarified her stance on the recent controversy surrounding her support for Cha Eun-woo. On September 26, Cha Eun-woo posted an apology on social media regarding the tax evasion allegations. Arden Cho caught attention by commenting on his post, "Always supporting you dongseng, Hwaiting!" This public show of support led to criticism.

Cho's team explained, "It was merely an expression of personal comfort, not an intention to defend his actions." They added, "We regret that a personal sentiment was perceived publicly. We promise to act more cautiously in the future."

Meanwhile, Arden Cho has voiced the character Lumi in the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters'. Despite it being her first voice acting role, she has impressed both critics and audiences with her nuanced portrayal of the character's emotions and personality. Her ability to naturally convey Korean cultural elements and humor has been praised for enhancing the film's engagement.

As a result, on September 26 (local time), Arden Cho won the Best Vocal Performance in Animation or Mixed Media at the 2025 North Carolina Film Critics Association (NCFCA) Awards.
