Han So-hee Opens Up About Social Media Controversy and Tattoo Removal
In a recent meeting at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, Han So-hee, the lead actress of the film 'Project Y,' discussed her role and personal experiences.
'Project Y' tells the story of Mi-seon and Do-kyung, who, while dreaming of a different future in the heart of a bustling city, find themselves at the edge of life, stealing black money and gold bars. Han So-hee plays Mi-seon, who loses everything due to an unexpected incident just before taking over a flower shop.
In March 2024, Han So-hee was embroiled in a social media controversy during the process of acknowledging her relationship and breakup with Ryu Jun-yeol. After Hyeri, who had previously dated Ryu Jun-yeol publicly, expressed discomfort on social media, Han So-hee responded, leading to a public exchange. Han So-hee clarified that the rumors of 'rebound dating' were false, expressing her displeasure.
When asked if she felt wronged by the social media controversy, Han So-hee said, "The feelings of burden or injustice are diminishing. As the years go by, I feel that way more. While I am an actress, I also think that as someone who receives public love, I should accept what needs to be accepted." She added, "Not everyone can think the same. If there are ten people, not all ten will like me. If I keep questioning 'why,' there will be no progress, so I try to accept some things and consider others as good feedback." She continued, "I realize 'I should accept this part and be careful about that part,' but I still hope people like me," she said with a smile.
Han So-hee was also known for her tattoos on her arms, which she has since removed. She explained, "In my line of work, I often have to wear dresses and meet various characters. Tattoos on my arms can limit the clothes I can wear or the roles I can take on, which is a disadvantage for me. So, I removed them." She added, "I might get them again later, but for now, removing them was the right decision. It was very painful to remove them," she said with a laugh.
When asked about new hobbies to relieve stress, Han So-hee replied, "I'm looking for a new hobby." She continued, "After 'My Name,' it was exercise. Exercising relieved my stress, so I went to action school regularly." She also mentioned, "Recently, I'm looking for hobbies I can do at home besides exercising. These days, I write in a diary. Writing in a diary helps a lot in managing emotions."
