Moon Chae-won Returns as the 'Legendary First Love' in New Comedy Film 'Heartman'

Actress Moon Chae-won is making a comeback with her 'legendary first love' image. Previously, she stirred controversy with a provocative performance alongside Kim Won-hoon in Coupang Play's 'SNL Korea Season 7' last May. However, with her new project, she is set to reclaim her pure and innocent image.

Opening today (14th), the film 'Heartman' is the first comedy of the 2026 New Year cinema lineup. It tells the story of Seung-min (played by Kwon Sang-woo), who reunites with his first love, Bo-na (played by Moon Chae-won), and struggles not to lose her again, all while harboring a secret he cannot reveal.

Moon Chae-won takes on the role of 'Bo-na', a legendary first love and photographer who captured Seung-min's heart during their college days. Behind her calm and gentle demeanor lies a candid and assertive charm. Moon captivates with her pure visuals and effortlessly portrays bold flirting, adding a fresh twist to the traditional 'first love character'. Despite this being her first foray into the comedy genre, she seamlessly blends into her character with understated humor and naturalistic acting, creating her own unique version of Bo-na.

Last summer, Moon left a strong impression with her intense portrayal of a beauty-obsessed character in the horror film 'Gwisi'. In 'Heartman', she successfully transforms into a bright and flexible comedic role, showcasing a 180-degree shift. By effortlessly navigating between the vastly different genres of horror and comedy, she once again proves her expanded acting range on screen.

'Heartman' is now playing in theaters nationwide as of today (14th).
