Actress Yeom Hye-ran Opens Up About Her Fear of Snakes During Filming

In a recent interview at a café in Anguk-dong, Seoul, Yeom Hye-ran discussed her role in the film 'No Other Choice'.
'No Other Choice' tells the story of Mansu, played by Lee Byung-hun, who, after being unexpectedly laid off from a paper company where he worked for 25 years, considers the drastic option of 'eliminating competitors' to find new employment. Yeom Hye-ran plays Ara, the wife who is dissatisfied with her husband Beom-mo, portrayed by Lee Sung-min, after he becomes lethargic following his job loss.

She continued, "I have always admired Director Park Chan-wook, but I was also apprehensive. I can't handle violent scenes, and his films are known for them. I had to mentally prepare myself for this project. I felt honored but also thought, 'I need to read the script.'"
Yeom Hye-ran added, "I have a severe fear of snakes. Even looking at pictures is difficult for me. To my surprise, the first scene involved a snake. I apologized and mentioned my fear, and the director, who also has a fear of snakes or bugs, assured me it would be done with CGI. That was a relief," she laughed.
