Son Ye-jin Expresses Joy at Opening of 30th Busan International Film Festival with 'No Choice'

The opening ceremony of the 30th Busan International Film Festival took place on the evening of the 17th, attracting numerous stars and industry figures. The event was hosted by actor Lee Byung-hun, who also stars in the opening film 'No Choice', directed by Park Chan-wook.
The main cast of 'No Choice' took to the stage to greet the audience. Director Park Chan-wook shared his thoughts, saying, "When the Busan Film Festival was first proposed, I wondered if it could succeed in Korea and thought it was a reckless endeavor. Now, 30 years later, it has become such a significant festival. It's unbelievable that my film is the opening film in its 30th year. It's an honor."
Son Ye-jin expressed her excitement, saying, "It's been a while since I've been to Busan, and our film being selected as the opening film is unforgettable. I won't forget today." She also remarked on the fortunate weather, "I won't forget this air either. It's lucky that it's not raining." Regarding the film, which had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, Son Ye-jin added, "It's the first time we're showing it in Korea, and I'm more excited and nervous than when it was screened in Venice."
The 30th Busan International Film Festival runs from today until the 26th, spanning 10 days around the Busan Cinema Center. This year's festival features 328 films from 64 countries.
