Yoon Ga-eun's 'The Owner of the World' Set for October 22 Release with New Trailer

'The Owner of the World' tells the story of an unpredictable 18-year-old high school student named 'Ju-in,' whose impulsive remark begins to shake everyone's world. This film marks Yoon Ga-eun's first release in six years, following her acclaimed works 'The World of Us' and 'The House of Us.' Notably, it was the first and only Korean film invited to compete in the Platform section at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival. The film has garnered rave reviews for the remarkable performance of newcomer Seo Soo-bin and the matured directorial vision of Yoon Ga-eun.

However, the atmosphere shifts with the arrival of an anonymous note and the phrase 'Ju-in, not what she seems,' revealing Ju-in's multifaceted character. The trailer features intriguing comments about Ju-in, such as "Honestly, Ju-in is really okay, but..." and "Ju-in isn't like that," alongside scenes of her emotionally charged interactions with classmates. These elements heighten curiosity about Ju-in's character. The trailer concludes with a seamless transition from Ju-in's enigmatic expression to the title 'The Owner of the World,' hinting at a narrative centered around Ju-in and her interactions with the world around her, showcasing Yoon Ga-eun's deepened directorial prowess.
'The Owner of the World' will be released in theaters nationwide on October 22.
