'Big Deal' Set for Global Release Across 21 Countries
The film 'Big Deal,' starring Yoo Hae-jin and Lee Je-hoon, is set to be released in 21 countries worldwide, bringing exciting news to fans.
'Big Deal' is set against the backdrop of the 1997 IMF financial crisis, telling the story of Jong-rok, a finance director whose life revolves around a soju company, and In-beom, an employee of a global investment firm focused solely on results. The film features a stellar cast including Yoo Hae-jin, Lee Je-hoon, Son Hyun-joo, Choi Young-joon, and Byron Mann.

The film has already made waves with a CGV Golden Egg score of 94% and a Lotte Cinema rating of 9.4, earning it the reputation of a 'must-watch movie' among audiences. 'Big Deal' will begin its global journey with a North American release on June 6, followed by premieres in Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan, Russia, and other countries. Doris Pfardrescher, CEO of North American distributor WELL GO, known for distributing films like 'The Dig' and 'The Unofficial Mission,' stated, "'Big Deal' is a powerful drama set against one of the most significant events in modern Korean history. We believe it will resonate with North American audiences who appreciate intense and dramatic stories based on real events." Tho Huynh, content manager at Mockingbird, which distributed 'The Dig' and 'Citizen Deok-hee' in Vietnam, added, "While 'Big Deal' is an economic story, it also showcases the powerful emotions of friendship, kindness, and life's essential values. The film offers deep and moving moments." 'Big Deal' is scheduled to release in Vietnam in June.
As Korea's iconic drink soju gains global recognition alongside the K-culture phenomenon, there is growing anticipation for 'Big Deal' to capture the hearts of international audiences.
