Park Hoon Praises Hyun Bin's Performance in 'Harbin'
Actor Park Hoon recently praised his co-star Hyun Bin for his performance in the film 'Harbin'.
On the 26th, Park Hoon, who stars in 'Harbin', was interviewed at a café in Sogyeok-dong, Seoul.
'Harbin' is a film set in 1909, depicting the pursuit and suspicion between those heading to Harbin for a singular purpose and those chasing them. Park Hoon plays the role of Mori Tatsuo, a Japanese army lieutenant.
Park Hoon appeared on the web variety show 'Jjanhanyoung' to promote 'Harbin'. During the show, he shared that he witnessed Hyun Bin shedding tears on the last day of filming.
Park Hoon commented, "It must have been a burden. Stories about historical figures are challenging. Having portrayed a real person myself, I can say it's extremely burdensome. He must have carried a lot of pressure." He continued, "It seemed like everything collapsed at once. I realized he had been enduring a lot. We ended with smiles. He held up well." He also praised Hyun Bin's growth as an actor, saying, "I've seen a lot of Hyun Bin's work. He's been acting in media longer than I have. Watching him portray Ahn Jung-geun, I felt like a new chapter opened for him."
Park Hoon and Hyun Bin have worked together three times, including in the drama 'Memories of the Alhambra' and the film 'Confidential Assignment 2: International'. Regarding being called 'Hyun Bin's man', Park Hoon laughed and said, "It just happened that way." He explained, "The director of the second project hadn't seen the first one, and coincidentally, director Woo Min-ho hadn't seen the previous two. There was no bias in casting." Park Hoon added, "I called Hyun Bin and said, 'Let's do this magnificently. Let's think of it as our last project together and give it our all.' I think we did well."
'Harbin' was released on the 24th and attracted 847,844 viewers on Christmas Day alone, reaching a cumulative audience of 1,254,068 in just two days.
