Joo Won Discusses Kwak Do-won's Absence

On the 28th, Joo Won, the lead actor of 'Firefighter', was interviewed at a café in Sogyeok-dong, Seoul.
'Firefighter' depicts the story of firefighters who, despite challenging conditions, were committed to extinguishing the fire and rescuing everyone during the 2001 Hongje-dong fire disaster. Joo Won plays the role of Cheol-woong, a rookie firefighter at the Seobu Fire Station.

Joo Won shared, "I reached out to Do-won hyung. He is unable to participate in promotional activities. Although his role is significant, the film is not just about him; it's about the firefighters' stories. I told him I would work hard to promote the film on his behalf." He added, "Hyung feels very sorry. From what I can tell, he is reflecting a lot and is genuinely remorseful. Regardless, I promised to give my best for the film in his absence."
The film includes a scene where Cheol-woong and Jin-seop have a heated argument. Joo Won commented, "We discussed and filmed that scene extensively. I didn't think I would lose in that argument. I never thought I would." He laughed and continued, "As actors, we performed in line with our characters. We deliberated a lot on important scenes and had many discussions with the director and fellow actors."
'Firefighter' is set to release on December 4th.
