As 'Big Family' garners attention as the sole family comedy of the season, the appearance of appetite-inducing 'dumplings' in its promotional content is creating a buzz. The film tells the story of 'Pyungmanok,' a renowned dumpling restaurant run by Kim Yoon-seok's character, whose lineage is threatened when his son becomes a monk. Unexpectedly, adorable grandchildren arrive, leading to a hilarious and unforeseen cohabitation.

The production team of 'Big Family' united to perfect the art of dumpling-making, reflecting the uncompromising dedication of Kim Yoon-seok's character, Ham Moo-ok, a dumpling master for 38 years. Director Yang Woo-seok enlisted three dumpling experts to consult on the film, who analyzed dumplings from renowned eateries across the country to create the perfect menu for 'Pyungmanok.' To authentically portray a dumpling artisan, Kim Yoon-seok learned the entire process, from kneading dough to preparing fillings and shaping dumplings.

A standout feature in the film is the special appearance of 'minnow dumplings,' an idea conceived by Director Yang Woo-seok. These North Korean-style dumplings, made with cabbage and minnow as the main ingredients, are visually enticing and sure to whet the audience's appetite. Yang Woo-seok explained, “Historically, dumplings were a rare delicacy, enjoyed mainly during festive occasions. This aligns perfectly with the narrative of 'Big Family,' which is why they were chosen as a central element.” The released stills of the delectable dumplings heighten anticipation for the film.

Promising a hearty serving of laughter, much like a well-stuffed dumpling, 'Big Family' is set to entertain audiences as the only family comedy this winter. The film is ready to hit theaters on December 11th.
