Jung Il-woo to Make Special Appearance in Korean-Vietnamese Film 'Going to Abandon Mom'

The film is produced by Motive Pictures and SIDUS AND TEU ENTERTAINMENT (SATE), with director Mo Hong-jin at the helm. Jung Il-woo will play the role of Jung Min, the ex-husband of Hong Dao (played by Hong Dao), the mother of the protagonist Hwan (played by Tuan Tran), who suffers from dementia. He will appear in flashback scenes of the main characters.
'Going to Abandon Mom' tells the story of Hwan, a poor street barber in Vietnam, who decides to seek help from his brother living in Korea as he struggles to care for his dementia-stricken mother while his own health deteriorates. The film, centered around a heartwarming family narrative, will unfold against the backdrop of Vietnam and Korea.
In this film, Jung Il-woo collaborates with Vietnamese star actors Tuan Tran and Hong Dao. Tuan Tran is known for his roles in Vietnam's highest-grossing films 'MAI' and 'Song of the South'. Hong Dao, a renowned actress in Vietnam, is affectionately called the 'People's Mother' and has appeared in over 30 works. The collaboration with director Mo Hong-jin, known for films like '2037' and 'Waiting for You', promises exceptional cinematography.
Jung Il-woo commented on his participation, stating, "The film's subtle resonance and message left a deep impression on me, leading to my decision to make a special appearance."
'Going to Abandon Mom', featuring Jung Il-woo, will begin filming in Korea on the 26th and is scheduled to wrap up in Vietnam in December. The film is expected to be released in the first half of next year.
