Song Joong-ki Wins Best Supporting Actor at 2024 Buil Film Awards for 'Hopeless'
Song Joong-ki has been awarded the Best Supporting Actor at the 2024 Buil Film Awards for his role in 'Hopeless'.

The 2024 Buil Film Awards took place on the 3rd at the Grand Bloom of Signiel Busan in Jung-dong, Haeundae-gu, Busan. The event was hosted by actors Go Ah-sung and Kim Dong-wook. Established in 1958, the Buil Film Awards were revived in 2008 and continue to this day.

Song Joong-ki expressed his gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank you. I am deeply grateful to the audience who loved 'Hopeless'." Referring to the presenter Kim Jong-soo, Song Joong-ki added, "Senior Kim appears as my father in the upcoming film 'Bogota: The Land of Last Chances'. During filming, at the hotel pool, I mentioned that 'Hopeless' is a great movie but lacks budget, so I asked him to join at a lower fee. Receiving this award from him makes it even more meaningful."

Song Joong-ki further explained, "'Hopeless' is not just another gangster story. It is a work that talks about the wounds of two boys who grew up under domestic abuse. I am grateful to the director for the excellent script and direction. I also thank the representative who invested in a project that was difficult to fund. During a casual conversation, when I was feeling bored with the repetitive cycle of life, the representative asked if I would read a heavy script, and I am thankful for that. I appreciate the representative who led us as the leader on the film set. Thanks to the fellow actors who endured hardships together. I am grateful to senior Tiger JK for providing the soul in the movie." He expressed his gratitude to the production company, investors, and many others involved in the film. He also added, "I am still lacking, but I will strive to be a better actor," and thanked his beloved family.
