Kim Yoon-seok and Lee Seung-gi's 'About Family' Officially Invited to the 44th Hawaii International Film Festival

Kim Yoon-seok and Lee Seung-gi's 'About Family' has been officially invited to the 44th Hawaii International Film Festival. The film 'About Family' tells the story of the owner of a famous dumpling restaurant, 'Pyeongmanok' (played by Kim Yoon-seok), who faces an unexpected and delightful cohabitation with adorable grandchildren he has never seen before, all because his son (played by Lee Seung-gi) became a monk, ending the family line.

Director Yang Woo-seok, known for 'The Attorney' and 'Steel Rain,' returns to the screen with 'About Family,' which has been officially invited to the Spotlight on Korea section of the 44th Hawaii International Film Festival. The festival, which runs from October 2 to October 13, aims to promote cultural exchange between Asia, the Pacific, and North America by selecting films that balance commercial appeal and artistic quality. Previous invitees include 'Concrete Utopia,' 'The Outlaws 3,' and 'Assassination.' 'About Family' will have its world premiere at the Hawaii International Film Festival. Anna Page, the festival's programming director, stated, "'About Family' is a humorous and tear-jerking film that reveals the true meaning of family." The first released poster features the phrase 'WE ARE OPEN' alongside a bowl of dumpling soup, the signature dish of Pyeongmanok. Director Yang Woo-seok is in the final stages of preparing to present this heartfelt film to audiences later this year.
