BTS RM's Documentary 'RM: Right People, Wrong Place' to Premiere at Busan International Film Festival
BTS member RM's documentary film 'RM: Right People, Wrong Place' will have its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
Distributor CJ 4DPLEX announced on the 4th that RM's first documentary film 'RM: Right People, Wrong Place' (directed by Lee Seok-jun) has been selected as an official invitation in the 'Open Cinema' section of the 29th Busan International Film Festival.
The Open Cinema section of the Busan International Film Festival showcases new works and highly anticipated films that combine artistic quality and popular appeal, screened at the outdoor theater of the Busan Cinema Center. This marks the first time a K-pop documentary film will be screened on such a large scale at the festival.
The film 'RM: Right People, Wrong Place' documents the making of RM's second solo album 'Right Place, Wrong Person,' released last May. It captures RM's continuous self-exploration as the leader of BTS, a solo artist, and as Kim Nam-joon, the individual. The film also features the visually striking aesthetics praised in his solo album music videos.
Directed by Lee Seok-jun, who previously worked on BTS member J-Hope's solo album 'Jack In The Box' music videos for 'Arson' and 'MORE,' the film will also release a special artistic poster to commemorate its festival invitation.
Following its premiere at the Busan International Film Festival, 'RM: Right People, Wrong Place' will be officially released in theaters worldwide. Information on ticket reservations and screening schedules for the Busan International Film Festival will be available through BTS's official channels, CJ 4DPLEX's official channels, and the Busan International Film Festival's official website.
Seo Gye-won, GM of HYBE Media Studio, which produced the film, stated, "It is very meaningful that 'RM: Right People, Wrong Place' will be the first K-pop documentary film to have a large-scale outdoor screening at the Busan International Film Festival. The film candidly captures RM's genuine inner self, enhanced by Director Lee Seok-jun's fresh and artistic visuals. We hope it resonates with the audience."
Shim Joon-bum, CEO of CJ 4DPLEX, expressed his excitement, saying, "We are thrilled to premiere BTS RM's documentary at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival. We look forward to its official release and hope it garners much interest from audiences worldwide."
