'PROJECT SILENCE' director missed Lee Sun-kyun, who passed away

On the 8th, a press preview and press conference for the movie 'PROJECT SILENCE' was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park on Hangang-daero, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Kim Tae-gon and actors Ju Ji-hoon, Kim Hee-won, Park Hee-bon, and Kim Su-an attended.
'PROJECT SILENCE' is a story about a series of collisions in thick fog and an extreme struggle to survive from out-of-control military lab dogs released on the airport bridge, which is on the verge of collapse.
Lee Sun-kyun played the role of Jeong-won, a security office administrator who was trapped on the Gonghang Bridge just before its collapse.
Director Kim said, “I seem to ask a lot of questions about how to make the audience’s heart pound when strange elements are involved in an everyday space. It started from 'How can I give the audience cinematic enjoyment when a place I always pass by on my way to the airport changes into some element and gives a sense of threat?' “I thought the audience would find it more interesting if we portrayed a group of humans in it,” he explained. While the first half of the story unfolds explanatoryly, the second half unfolds with a sense of urgency. Director Kim said, “I thought the audience needed time to become immersed,” and “I hoped that the audience would sympathize with their desire to escape at the end.”
Director Kim said, “I think it would have been nice if Sunkyun was here. From the time I was preparing the movie, I needed to have an understanding of the equipment and space that take place on the bridge as well as on set. Seonkyun hyung and I discussed a lot of the parts that I had missed, such as the movement path and the character's emotions. “We asked and answered questions about each and every element to find the overall answer to the movie.”
'PROJECT SILENCE' will be released on the 12th.
