Ok Taecyeon to appear in Japanese movie ‘Grand Maison Paris’

On the 18th, Ok Taecyeon's agency 51K announced, "Ok Taecyeon will appear in the Japanese movie 'Grand Maison Paris'. We ask for your interest and anticipation."
The movie 'Grand Maison Paris' is a film adaptation of the popular drama 'Grand Maison Tokyo', which aired on TBS in Japan in 2019. The main actors who appeared in the drama, including Takuya Kimura, Kyoka Suzuki, Ikki Sawamura, and Mitsuhiro Oikawa, teamed up once again. Genius chefs Natsuki Obana (Takuya Kimura) and Rinko Hayami (Kyoka Suzuki), who earned three Michelin stars in Japan and then opened Grand Maison Paris in Paris, the home of French cuisine, are the first Asians to receive three Michelin stars. ' It depicts a story that unfolds while trying to run a restaurant.
Taecyeon Ok plays the role of Rick Yuan, a Korean-Canadian pastry chef who clashes with Takuya Kimura, who plays the charismatic main chef Natsuki Obana, at every turn. Rick Yuan is a pastry chef who has the skills to own his own shop and a unique passion for desserts. Taecyeon Ok can speak three languages, Japanese and French, in addition to his native language, Korean.
Ok Taecyeon, who announced his first appearance in a Japanese film, said through his agency 51K, "I was very excited to be able to appear in a work with Takuya Kimura, whom I had admired, and it was an honor to be able to be a part of a good work. I went back and forth between Japan and Paris and worked overseas. “Through this experience with staff from each country, I also received a lot of good stimulation, and I gained confidence that I can take on new challenges at any time if I immerse myself in the character well,” he said. He also said, “Like Team Grand Maison, who are struggling to receive Michelin’s ‘Three Stars,’ I hope that those who follow their dreams will also gain the courage to know that someday those dreams will come true.”
‘Grand Maison Paris’ is scheduled to be released in Japan this winter after undergoing post-production work.
