Yeo Jin-goo tried his hand at playing a villain for the first time in the movie 'Hijack 1971'.

On the 22nd, a production briefing session for the movie 'Hijack 1971' was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park in Hangang-ro-dong, Seoul. Director Kim Seong-han and actors Ha Jung-woo, Yeo Jin-goo, Seong Dong-il, and Chae Soo-bin attended.

'Hijack 1971' is a film about the extreme situation that occurred when a passenger plane was hijacked in the airspace of Korea in 1971.

Ha Jung-woo played the role of Tae-in, a passenger aircraft co-pilot from the Air Force. Yeo Jin-goo played the role of Yong-dae, a passenger plane hijacker. Seong Dong-il played the role of passenger plane captain Gyu-sik. Chae Soo-bin appears as Ok-sun, a flight attendant.

Yeo Jin-goo said, “I liked the content of the movie. The hijacking incident, which was unfamiliar to me, was refreshing. “It was fun to see the tangled emotions and thrilling moments as time passed within the limited space of an airliner,” he said.

Yeo Jin-goo, who is taking on the role of a villain for the first time, said, “I felt special.” He continued, “I tried to make it a little rougher on the outside, and since it was the 1970s, I tried to make it a little rougher and look like nothing I had seen before. “Although Yongdae has his own narrative, I filmed it while thinking about how to express Yongdae without being overly glorified or justified,” he explained.

Yeo Jin-goo said, “During the drama, I throw tantrums or threaten with weapons. Because he was Jungwoo hyung, he was too harsh with his father (Seong Dong-il). Each time, my brothers supported me with understanding and love. Fortunately, I was able to finish it well,” he said, expressing his gratitude.

Ha Jung-woo said, “I think Jin-goo’s role was difficult because he had to maintain tension from beginning to end.” He continued, “It was my first acting experience. “He was bigger and stronger than on screen,” he said, expressing his impressions of meeting him in person. Also, “The image I had in mind was different when I actually saw this work. “I thought he grew into a manly and wonderful actor,” he said.

'Hijack 1971' will be released on June 21st.
