Director Wong Kar-wai's 'Chungking Express' remastered and released to celebrate its 30th anniversary
Director Wong Kar-wai's film 'Chungking Express' (1994) will be re-released this year to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

From February 14th to 27th, a special exhibition will be held where you can see five episodes, ‘Chungking Express Remastering’, ‘Happy Together Remastering’, ‘In the Mood for Love Remastering’, ‘Fallen Angel Remastering’, and ‘2046 Remastering’. 'Chungking Express Remastering' is one of the works that underwent 4K digital remastering in 2020 by selecting five representative works of director Wong Kar-wai, who led the Hong Kong New Wave.

In 2024, Megabox will hold an event where drawing cards will be given away to audiences who have viewed special exhibitions. The drawing card contains drawing art of a representative scene from each work on the front, and the official poster on the back. When viewing each movie, a free gift is given on a first-come, first-served basis, and audiences who watch all three works will receive an additional drawing board to store drawing cards through a lottery. Detailed information can be confirmed later through the Megabox website, mobile app, and NK Contents SNS.

The 30th anniversary theatrical release of ‘Chungking Express Remastering’ can be seen at Megabox nationwide starting February 28th.
