Director Choi Dong-hoon defined 'Alienoid' as "the movie that saved me."

Director Choi Dong-hoon met with Ten Asia at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 5th and spoke about the movie in an interview related to the second part of the movie 'Alienoid' (Director Choi Dong-hoon).

On this day, Director Choi was told that he had never failed at the box office before, and asked, "Is that so? There have been a lot of failures in small scenes," and said, "That's true. It was really difficult for the first part not to be a box office hit."

"At that time, I told myself not to go out of the house. Haha, in fact, the movie may be a hit or a failure, but I felt that this was my destiny as a movie director. In fact, even the movies that have been successful so far, when I look back now, I think, 'That scene is Sometimes I think, ‘I want to film it again.’ I can’t say that every movie is perfect or just good to me.”

Director Choi, who said that he experienced success and failure with each film as a film director, said, "Part 1 really wasn't a box office success, and I heard that people liked it and disliked it." He added, "Actually, I'm most afraid of people saying that people like it and dislike it. So, after Part 1 was over, I thought about whether I really had the strength left to do Part 2.”

"When the first part was released, I had done a little bit of part 2. But it was very difficult, and it was even more so because it felt like there was no guarantee that part 2 would do well. But strangely, while doing post-production, I kept revising and revising the movie, and I thought, 'I am the movie'. 'The reason I make it is because I think it's fun and I like it.' It struck me again in a surprising way. In that respect, I think 'Alien + Human' is the movie that saved me."

Director Choi said that while working on a movie that was a popular failure, he realized again the original intention that first made him fall in love with movies. “It’s been 20 years since I made a movie,” he said. “Among the movies I’ve made so far, there are some cool and wonderful friends, but ‘Alienoid’ is “There are a lot of twists and turns and it’s difficult, so I think it’s the most lovely movie to me,” he said, drawing attention.
