Kim Si-eun, who is looking forward to 2024, achieves 7 Rookie of the Year Awards with ‘Next Sohee’

Actress Kim Si-eun won 7 awards for best new artist with the movie ‘Next Sohee’ (directed by Jeong Joo-ri).

'Next Sohee' is a film based on a true story about Sohee, a high school student who goes on field training at a call center ahead of graduation and changes as she confronts the absurdity of a harsh society. It was also the first Korean film to be selected as the closing film of the Critics Week at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

In the play, Kim Si-eun loved dancing and was confident and active, but after starting field training at a call center, she gradually lost her smile and vitality, portraying the conflicting appearance through dense facial expressions and emotional acting.

With 'Next Sohee' released on February 8, Kim Si-eun won the Best New Actress Award at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards, Best New Actress Award at the 43rd Korean Association of Film Critics Awards, Best New Actress Award at the 32nd Buil Film Awards, and Best New Actress Award at the 43rd Buil Film Awards. She had the honor of winning a total of 7 rookie awards, including the New Actress Award at the Golden Cinematography Awards, the New Actress Award at the 59th Grand Bell Awards, the New Actor Award at the 10th Korean Film Producers Association Awards, and the New Actress Award at the 24th Busan Film Critics Association Awards. Additionally, in the movie 'You and I' (directed by Jo Hyeon-cheol), she played the role of high school student Ha-eun and showed off her lively charm.

Expectations are gathering for Kim Si-eun, who will show a new side in 2024.
