Art Nine, a theater dedicated to independent art films, is holding a ‘Special Exhibition for the 120th Anniversary of Yasujiro Ozu’.

Yasujiro Ozu is a director who is considered one of the three great directors of Japanese cinema, along with Akira Kurosawa and Kenji Mizoguchi. It is evaluated that the daily life and crises of life between family and lovers were captured on camera with a profound perspective, capturing the cracks in traditional Japanese society that occurred during the flow of modernization at the time. Critic Seong-il Jeong once expressed his respect for Yasujiro Ozu, saying, “A name that can only be described as great.”

This special exhibition includes 'Late Spring' (1949), 'The Taste of Ochazuke' (1952), 'Tokyo Story' (1953), 'Twilight in Tokyo' (1957), 'Hello' (1959), and 'The Taste of Saury' (1962). ), six of Yasujiro Ozu's representative works will be screened. Not only will Yasujiro Ozu's last black-and-white film, 'Twilight in Tokyo', which has been difficult to see in Korea, be screened, but all six films will also be presented in digital remastering.
