In the movie 'Noryang: Deadly Sea' (directed by Kim Han-min), actor Baek Yun-sik played the role of Shimazu, a general who would fight with all his might against Yi Sun-sin.

'Noryang: Deadly Sea' is a war action masterpiece depicting Admiral Yi Sun-sin's final battle to completely annihilate the Japanese army trying to retreat from Joseon, seven years after the outbreak of the Japanese invasion of Korea. Actor Baek Yun-sik plays Shimazu, the top commander of the Japanese army who leads the Salma army in the Battle of Noryang.

Equipped with a cruelty that will do anything to win the war and a seasoned resourcefulness honed through actual combat, he never quenches his ambition for victory even in unfavorable situations and attempts to attack Yi Sun-sin.

Baek Yun-sik said, "I studied various sources to portray the character of Shimazu. Regardless of the Joseon and Japanese forces, I felt that the character of Shimazu itself was a great and attractive person from a cinematic perspective. It is a film that will likely become a record of my life's work as an actor. “I am confident that it is a quality work that will provide the audience with the finale of Yi Sun-shin’s trilogy project,” he said, expressing his thoughts about participating.

The movie 'Noryang: Deadly Sea' is scheduled to be released on December 20th.
