'Decision To Leave' Park Chan-wook Confirms Attendance at the U.S. Critics' Choice Awards
Park Chan-wook, director of the movie 'Decision to Break Up', confirmed his attendance at the U.S. Critics' Choice Awards.

According to Ten Asia coverage on the 15th, director Park Chan-wook of 'Decision to Break Up' confirmed his attendance at the 28th American Critics Choice Awards, scheduled to be held in Los Angeles, USA on the 15th (local time). Initially, Director Park had been coordinating whether or not to attend the awards ceremony considering his schedule, etc., but ultimately decided to attend.

Director Park Chan-wook's 'Decision to Break Up' was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Award. This work depicts the story of Hae-jun (played by Hae-il Park), a detective who investigates a mysterious death in the mountains, and begins to feel both suspicion and interest when he meets Seo-rae (played by Tang Wei), the wife of the deceased.

Competing works of ‘Decision to Break Up’ include ‘No More on the Western Front’ (Germany), ‘Argentina, 1985’ (Argentina), ‘Bardo, a false chronicle mixed with a bit of truth’ (Mexico), ‘Close’ (Belgium), and ‘RRR :Rise Lower Revolt' (India), etc.

Director Park Chan-wook was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Award at the 2005 and 2016 Critics' Choice Awards for 'Old Boy' and 'The Handmaiden', respectively, but unfortunately did not win the award. Attention is being paid to whether this ‘Decision to Break Up’ will allow them to enjoy the joy of winning.

Meanwhile, at this year's U.S. Critics' Choice Awards, 'Weird Lawyer Woo Young-woo' (director Yoo In-sik, hereinafter referred to as 'Woo Young-woo') and Apple TV+'s 'Pachinko' (director Kogonada) were nominated for the Best Foreign Language Series Award. Park Eun-bin of ‘Woo Young-woo’ and Kim Min-ha of ‘Pachinko’ confirmed their attendance.

'Woo Young-woo' and 'Pachinko' are '1899' (Netflix), 'Female Prime Minister Birgit' (Netflix), 'Garcia!' (HBO Max), 'The Kingdom Exodus' (movie), and 'Cleo' (Netflix) ), 'My Brilliant Friend' (HBO), and 'Tehran' (Apple TV+) will compete for the Best Foreign Language Series trophy.

The Critics' Choice Awards is an award given by the Critics' Choice Association (CCA), the largest critics' organization in North America, including the United States and Canada, that evaluates the work of broadcasts and movies and the acting skills of the actors who appear in them.
