‘Decision to Break Up’, British Academy Award ‘Finalist’ for Best Director
The movie 'Decision to Break Up' (director Park Chan-wook) was included in the final nominations for two categories at the 76th British Academy Awards: Best Director and Best Foreign Language Film.
On the 19th (local time), the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) announced the final candidates for the 76th British Academy Awards. According to this, 'Decision to Break Up', directed by Park Chan-wook, was selected as a finalist in one category: Best Director and Best Foreign Language Film.
The British Academy Awards are hosted by BAFTA. It is considered one of the most prestigious film festivals in the English-speaking world. The awards ceremony will be held at the Royal Festival Hall at Southbank Center in London on February 19th.
Previously, director Park Chan-wook won the first foreign language film award as a Korean director for 'The Handmaiden' in 2018. In 2020, director Bong Joon-ho's 'Parasite' won the Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Screenplay trophies. Also, in 2021, Youn Yeo-jeong of 'Minari' won the Best Supporting Actress Award as a Korean actor.
Meanwhile, 'Decision to Break Up' is a story that begins when detective Hae-jun (played by Park Hae-il), who was investigating a sudden death in the mountains, meets the deceased's wife, Seo-rae (played by Tang Wei) ) ), and feels both suspicion and interest.
