Actor Ryu Kyung-soo boasted of working with director Yeon Sang-ho of the Netflix movie 'Jeong-i'.

On the 26th, I met Ryu Kyung-soo, who appeared in the Netflix movie 'Jeong-i', at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul. Ryu Kyung-soo plays the role of Sang-hoon, the head of a research institute who must succeed in developing combat AI.

Ryu Kyung-soo said, "The subject matter was interesting, but in fact, the main reason was because it was director Yeon Sang-ho. Director Yeon Sang-ho's filming set is comfortable and fun." He continued, "I think there are many people who don't want to go to work. I also do that sometimes when I'm tired, but I look forward to this site every day when I go to work. It's fun. It makes me laugh, makes me happy, and doesn't stress me out," he said with satisfaction.

Ryu Kyung-soo is working with director Yeon Sang-ho for the third time, following Netflix's 'Hell', 'Jeong-i', and the currently filming 'Seonsan'. Director Yeon Sang-ho was in charge of directing and scripting for ‘Hell’ and ‘Jungi’, and planning for ‘Seonsan’.

Ryu Kyung-soo boasted of their collaboration, saying, "Director Yeon Sang-ho is fun no matter what the story is and whether the role is big or small. I think I'll always be grateful if you call me." When asked if the gag code fits well, he laughed and said, "I don't think there is a tendency to sing it that way." He continued, "It was so funny that I fell over laughing. The director said, 'Why are you smiling like that?' and the corners of his mouth went up. That means he was satisfied, too." He also joked, "I don't know many directors, but in an interview, I said that your comedy would be in the top five among Korean film directors, but that has changed. In East Asia, you're in the top five." When asked what part makes him laugh, he said, "The director's storytelling method of talking about things that happened in everyday life and things that were funny is interesting. I also act using my whole body, including gestures and facial expressions."

'Jeong-i' is a science fiction film that tells the story of people who try to develop the best combat AI by cloning the brain of the legendary mercenary 'Jeong-i' in order to end the war that broke out in the shelter where they migrated away from the Earth devastated by climate change. It was released on Netflix on the 20th.
