Kim Si-eun "Working with senior Bae Doo-na, who is a great support just by her presence."

Actress Kim Si-eun expressed her feelings about working with Bae Doo-na through the movie 'Next Sohee'.

On the afternoon of the 2nd, Kim Si-eun told various stories about the upcoming movie 'Next Sohee' (directed by Jeong Ju-ri) at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

'Next Sohee' is an intense story about an incident that Sohee (played by Si-eun Kim), a confident 18-year-old high school student, encounters while going on field training, and Eugene (played by Doo-na Bae), a detective who investigates it, encounters it in the same space but at a different time. Last year, it was the first Korean film to be selected as the closing film of the Critics Week at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival.

In the play, Kim Si-eun played Kim So-hee. Kim So-hee is an ordinary high school student who is brave and sharp enough to say what she wants to say, but can also be bright and clumsy at times.

On this day, Kim Si-eun said about her feelings about working with Bae Doo-na, "Senior Bae Doo-na and I appear in the same movie, but even if I was in the audience, I think people would be more curious about Bae Doo-na rather than me first. I am also a member of the audience, but Bae Doo-na “I was more curious about my senior. So, I felt a bit of pressure,” he confessed.

He continued, "Actually, my senior gave me a lot of strength just by being there. He never said anything to me about 'what you want me to do' in terms of acting. The look in his eyes that I was doing well and the way he looked at me on set gave me strong support as a junior. He added, “I could personally feel how much he cared and loved ‘Daum Sohee’.”

Kim Si-eun said, "If I were to become a senior, I wondered if I could become a senior like this. I wonder if I could become someone who shows her support without putting pressure on her. Senior Bae Doo-na is a calm being, like a reflection in a reservoir. "We couldn't have much conversation on set. We're having a conversation while going through the promotional schedule for 'Next Sohee'. Just my presence was a big support," he said, expressing his affection.

Kim Si-eun already knew about Bae Doo-na's appearance before appearing on 'Next Sohee'. He said, “That made me even more unbelievable. I thought, ‘How dare I?’ and ‘Can I do it?’ I felt more at ease when auditioning. There were many good actors besides me in Sohee, which was a coveted role for actors in their 20s. “I’m sure it was me, but it was a bit surprising,” he said.

Meanwhile, 'Next Sohee' will be released on February 8th.
