The global film 'PAST LIVES', jointly invested and distributed by distributor CJ ENM and American Hollywood studio A24, is receiving favorable reviews overseas after being invited to the competition section of the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival.

'Fast Lives' is a story about a man and a woman who met as children in Korea and reunite in New York 20 years later. Greta Lee of the Netflix TV series 'Like Russian Doll' and actor Teo Yoo appear, and Korean-Canadian Celine Song directs. Starting with the release in North America within the year, A24 and CJ ENM plan to release it worldwide in distribution countries.

'Fast Lives', which was invited to the 39th Sundance Film Festival held in January, received rave reviews from local media, critics, and audiences after its screening, emerging as a noteworthy work this year. The Guardian, a leading foreign media outlet, gave the film 4 stars (out of 5) and praised it, saying, "It is a delicately sad romantic drama and a true success. Director Celine Song has made a surprisingly perfect debut film."

Variety then said, “The play is driven not only by language but also by the deep emotions that flow between the main characters,” and Deadline said, “Director Celine Song deeply talks about the concept of modern love through fascinating characters. ", Indiewire commented, "It will be the best movie of the year."

THE DAILY DOT's critic Michelle said, "It's a heartbreakingly beautiful and self-reflective film that completely captivated me. Greta Lee and Teo Yoo also gave fantastic performances. High praise to Celine Song.", Screen International (SCREEN INTERNATIONAL)'s team critic gave a favorable review, saying, "It is an intensely romantic yet overwhelmingly realistic story."

In addition, IndieWire conducted a survey of 367 critics targeting films released at the Sundance Film Festival, and as a result, 'Fast Lives' ranked 2nd in 'Best Film' (best work), 4th in 'Best Directing' (best director), and 4th place in 'Best Directing'. It had the honor of taking third place in ‘Best Screenwriting’ and second place in ‘Best First Film’ (best debut film).

Thanks to these favorable reviews and expectations, expectations are rising whether the film will achieve good results at the Berlin International Film Festival. The Berlin International Film Festival will be held in Berlin, Germany from the 16th to the 26th. In the competitive category, 19 candidates, including ‘Fast Lives’, will compete.

Go Gyeong-beom, head of CJ ENM's film division, said, "'Fast Lives' is a film with a Korean world view and scenery, and was one of the most well-received films at the Sundance Film Festival, which discovers new films." He added, "'Everything, Everywhere All at'. “I hope it will be a work that injects new energy into the global film industry together with A24, the studio that has recently attracted the most attention in Hollywood with projects such as ‘Once’.”
