The movie ‘Makgeolli Will Tell You’ won the Aurora Media Award at the 28th BIFF.

'Makgeolli Will Tell You' (Director Kim Da-min), which was officially invited and premiered in the 'Korean Cinema Today: Vision' section of the 28th Busan International Film Festival, won the 'Aurora Media Award'.

'Makgeolli Will Tell You' is a movie about Dongchun, an elementary school student who accidentally discovers that makgeolli is sending Morse code and sets out to find out.

The 'Aurora Media Award', which was awarded at the 'Vision Night' awards ceremony held at the KNN Theater at 7 pm on the 12th, was awarded to Korean works in the 'New Currents' category and 'Korean Film Today - Vision' to foster new directors in the Korean film industry. Two films will be awarded among the works screened in each category.

The review of 'Makgeolli Will Tell You' was said to be, "The director's highly complete story structure was outstanding as he penetrated the daily lives of children these days with a young girl's cute imagination to deliver a proactive and healthy message." Director Kim Da-min said, “It was a precious time just to meet the audience at the first screening at the Busan International Film Festival, and I am truly grateful for the award. “Please look forward to Makgeolli’s progress,” he said in his acceptance speech.

The movie ‘Makgeolli will tell you’ is scheduled to be released in 2024.
