Plus M invests and distributes Na Hong-jin's new work 'HOPE'
Director Na Hong-jin, who directed 'The Chaser' and 'The Wailing', is joining hands with PlusM Entertainment to produce a new movie (working title).
On the 30th, PlusM Entertainment concluded an investment/distribution contract for director Na Hong-jin's new film 'HOPE' (working title). Director Na Hong-jin and production company Forged Films promised the highest level of completion, and PlusM Entertainment promised full support for the success of the project.
Director Na Hong-jin's new film 'HOPE' (working title) is the story of residents confronting a mysterious attack that began in the isolated port town of Hopo Port. After an unknown entity is spotted on the outskirts of the village, it will depict the struggle of the residents as they search for its true identity and face the threat of their village being destroyed. This is a new project carefully planned by director Na Hong-jin, who attracted attention with his overwhelming masterpieces, taking the global market into consideration.
Director Na Hong-jin said, "It is often seen throughout society that someone's good intentions lead to catastrophe due to differences in position. This film attempts to capture this phenomenon. The theme is reflected in the formal aspect of the film, something that has never been seen before. “I plan to showcase works that I haven’t done before,” he said.
As it claims to be a 'work that has never been seen before', not only the planning but also the casting attracts attention. Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-seong, and Jeong Ho-yeon have confirmed their appearances. In the play, Hwang Jung-min plays rural police officer Beom-seok and works with director Na Hong-jin once again. Jo In-seong plays the role of Seong-gi, a young hunter. Ho-yeon Jeong joins the cast as police officer Seong-ae.
