Box office top 3 foreign films
While the movie 'Suzume's Lockdown' (directed by Makoto Shinkai) has succeeded in closing the door and maintaining its first place, Japanese animation and American movies are in the top 3 box office.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network on the 4th, 'Suzume's Lockdown' mobilized 39,747 people on the 3rd, recording a total cumulative audience of 3,824,484, taking first place.

‘Suzume’s Lockdown’ became the highest-grossing film among Makoto Shinkai’s works released in Korea. It surpassed its previous work, 'Your Name' (3,812,241 viewers), which had the highest score, and achieved its highest box office success. 'Suzume's Lockdown' ranked first in the box office for 26 consecutive days and ranked first in the weekend box office for 4 consecutive weeks, surpassing the box office performance of 'The First Slam Dunk', which is currently the highest-grossing Japanese animation work.

'Suzume's Lockdown' tells the story of Suzume, a girl who accidentally opens a door that causes disaster, and desperately tries to close it to prevent disasters occurring throughout Japan. The movie takes as its main subject the Great East Japan Earthquake, which had a magnitude of 9.0, the largest ever observed in Japan. ‘Suzume’s Lockdown’ is a movie that attracted 10 million viewers in Japan and is also a box office hit in Korea.

Second place went to ‘Dungeons & Dragons: Honor of Thieves’ (directed by Jonathan Goldstein), which attracted 12,089 people and recorded a cumulative audience of 189,943. Third place was ‘The First Slam Dunk’ (directed by Takehiko Inoue) with 6,832 viewers, reaching 438, 8,187. 4th place is ‘Woongnam’ (directed by Park Seong-gwang), and 5th place is ‘Rebound’ (directed by Jang Hang-jun), which has not yet been released.

While the Japanese animations 'Suzume's Lockdown' and 'The First Slam Dunk' and the American film 'Dungeons & Dragons: Honor of Thieves' are in the top 3 box office, Korean movies are struggling to make a difference recently.
